Voegtly 80th birthday
Ruth Voegtly of Harmony will celebrate her 80th birthday with an open house from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday in Stewart Hall at the Harmony Museum.
The former Ruth Higley was born June 22, 1930, in Zelienople. She married Richard Voegtly on April 11, 1953, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Zelienople. He is deceased.
She has three children, Richard Voegtly of Harmony, Robert Voegtly and Rebecca Moran of Lawton, Okla.
She also has eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She is a homemaker.
She is a member of the Willing Workers group at her church, the Zelienople Order of the Eastern Star, Harmony Historical Society, Friends in Christ and the Salvation Army.
She is a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Zelienople.
At the open house, the family will make a memory wall. If anyone has a picture or story, take it and it will be put into a memory book. In lieu of gifts, donations will be accepted for the Salvation Army.
