Cypher 98th birthday
Helen Denny Cypher of Cabot will celebrate her 98th birthday with mass at 8 a.m. Sunday at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 315 Stoney Hollow Road, Cabot.
She was born Sept. 5, 1912, on her family farm in Winfield Township.
She married Philip Cypher on June 6, 1938. He is deceased.
She has two children, Philip Dennis Cypher of Freeport and Sandra Grau of Midlothian, Va. She also has six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Cypher retired after 42 years from the South Butler School District. She is a 72-year member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, where she is active in the Confraternity of Christian Mothers, the American Legion Auxiliary of Post 683 and the Golden Agers.
She was given the Mary DeMucci Award in 2001 by the Butler County Office of Catholic Charities and received the Manifesting Kingdom Award in 2006 from the Diocese of Pittsburgh.
