Ernest and Jean Oesterling of Meridian celebrated 55 years of marriage.

Oesterling married the former Jean Sloan on Nov. 28, 1955, at Mount Nebo Presbyterian Church in Whitestown.

They have two children, John of Meridian and Connie of Charlotte, N.C.

They also have two grandchildren.

Oesterling is retired from the former Sprint Telephone.

Mrs. Oesterling is retired from the former Elder Insurance Agency of Butler.

Mrs. Oesterling enjoys reading, and Mr. Oesterling enjoys antique cars and trucks.

Oesterling is a member of the Meridian Veterans Club. He also belongs to the William H. Miller Lodge 769 F&AM.

They belong to Meridian United Presbyterian Church, where Mrs. Oesterling is a deacon.
