Louis 'Pete' and Janet Grindel

Louis “Pete” and Janet Grindel of Evans City will celebrate 60 years of marriage with an open house hosted by their daughters from 1 to 5 p.m. June 5 at their home, 1254 Evans City Road. They will celebrate their anniversary in addition to Mr. Grindel’s 80th birthday.

Grindel married the former Janet Parsons on June 23, 1951, at St. Mathias Church in Evans City.

They have two children, Joy Grindel Mulkern and Jill Hirschy Mulkern, both of Connoquenessing.

They also have four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Grindel is retired from the Middle Department Inspection Agency.

Mrs. Grindel is retired from Mine Safety Appliances.

The Grindels belong to St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian.
