Dorothy Myers

Dorothy Irene Myers, 88, of Butler, passed away Friday, Aug. 9, 2024, at Advance Care Center of Butler.

She was born Oct. 7, 1935, in Meridian, the daughter of the late William John Stokes Sr. and Margaret (Lassinger) Stokes.

Dorothy graduated from West Sunbury High School, where she was valedictorian of her class. She was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church and a charter member of West Minister Presbyterian Church in America. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she was past Worthy Matron, the Grand Representative of Utah, and the District Deputy Grand Matron. Dorothy worked as a medical secretary for Butler Area School District. She was a member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association.

Surviving are her daughter, Dawn Myers of Nashville, Tenn.; son, Stephen Myers of Monaca; two sisters, Judy Gall and Pamela (Bill) Ohl; four grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Roy Myers, whom she was married to for 41 years; her son, Jeffrey Scott Myers; sister; brother; and an infant grandson.

MYERS — Friends of Dorothy Irene Myers, who died Friday, Aug. 9, 2024, will be received from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. with the Order of the Eastern Star on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2024, at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.

Burial will be private.
