Finger-Lickin' Good

The grand opening of the remodeled Morgan's Kentucky Fried Chicken Carry-Out, next to Morgan's Diner at Jefferson and Washington streets, was celebrated for the week of April 7, 1968. Morgan's Restaurants, owned by Butler businessman William Morgan, had 10 full-service restaurants and 10 chicken outlets in Pennsylvania and Ohio in 1968. They included Morgan's Drive-In on Route 8 North and the Garden Gate restaurant on Route 422. Morgan's Carry-Out began serving Kentucky Fried Chicken in 1958. The franchise was among the first in the nation.
