Karen Bohin
Karen Bohin, 75, of Butler, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2024.
She was born in Butler on Nov. 13, 1948. She was the daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Widenhofer) Wagner. She graduated from Butler High School in 1966. Karen was the loving and caring wife of Andrew Bohin for 55 years, his best friend and soul mate. Known to most as Munka, her family was her life.
After a career spanning over two decades at Nationwide Insurance, she embarked on a new entrepreneurial venture. Following the closure of her workplace, Karen joined forces with a friend and business partner to establish a bridal shop, which they successfully operated for 12 years. She had a gift for transforming ordinary moments into extraordinary memories. Her passion for nature’s wonders was evident in her adventures to cascading waterfalls and tranquil woodland walks. With a nurturing touch, she tended to flowers and plants, creating vibrant gardens that mirrored her own zest for life. Her gentle spirit found joy in observing and nourishing local birds, while her eyes often turned skyward to marvel at the moon’s ever-changing face. In moments of stillness, Karen found solace and strength through quiet prayer, reflecting her deep spiritual connection.
Karen is survived by her loving husband, Andrew “Bud” Bohin; a son, David (Sandy) Bohin; a daughter, Deanna (William) Kranbacher; six grandchildren, Hannah, Ben, Luke, Madeline, Mary and Andrew; two great-grandchildren, Nellie and Jack; siblings, Robert (Marsha) Wagner, Maryann (Vince) Kriley, Cathy (Bob) Slagle, Billy Wagner, Joe (Naomi) Wagner and Ed (Carol) Wagner.
Along with her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her brother, Kenny.
