Jones 80th birthday
Charles K. Jones Jr. of Clearwater, Fla., and Williston, N.D., will celebrate his 80th birthday with an open house at 1:30 p.m. July 24 at Stewart Hall at the Harmony Museum, 218 Mercer St., Harmony.
Jones was born Oct. 2, 1931, in Pittsburgh.
His wife is Bonnie Lee Richardson, whom he married May 6, 2000.
He married his late first wife Doris A. Myers on June 6, 1952. He married his late second wife Jo Jo Mayhew Shields on June 15, 1990.
He has 11 children, Vicki Miller of Alpharetta, Ga., Cynthia Singletary of Greenville, N.C., Kathy Luek of Harmony, Charles K. Jones III of Zelienople, Dwight Jones of Evans, Ga., David Jones of London, Debbie Shields of Copenhagen, Denmark, Beth Christensen of Oakville, Ontario, Matthew Shields of Duncannon, Pa., Scott Shields of Littleton, Colo., and Chad Howell of Deland, Fla.
He also has 14 grandchildren.
Jones was borough secretary of Zelienople from 1972 to 1993. He was manager of Lava Crucible Refractories from 1951 to 1972.
He is affiliated with the PA State Association of Boroughs, PA Local Government Secretaries Association, Butler County Boroughs Association, Butler County Industrial Management Club, Zelienople Harmony Area Chamber of Commerce, Lions Club, Harmony Lodge 429 F&AM, New Castle Consistory and the Syria Shrine Temple.
Jones belongs to Calvin Presbyterian Church.
