Mary and Earle Stoops

Earle and Mary Stoops will celebrate 50 years of marriage.

Stoops married the former Mary Brown on Jan. 29, 1962, at a United Methodist Church in Virginia.

They have five children, John Stoops of Butler, James Stoops of Summerville, S.C., and Sgt. Major Brian Stoops of Worms, Germany.

Their son, Earle Stoops, and daughter, Deborah Stoops, have passed away.

They also have several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Stoops is retired from the Butler Eagle. He is a veteran of WWII-Pacific and the Korean War.

He is also a member of the American Legion in Lyndora and a VFW lifetime member.

Mrs. Stoops is a retired, dedicated CNA.

The Stoops are members of the United Methodist Church in Butler.
