Thompson 74th anniversary
Robert and Clara Thompson of Karns City will celebrate 74 years of marriage with a family dinner in mid-June.
Thompson married the former Clara Jameson on June 1, 1938, in Gettysburg.
They have two sons, Robert Thompson Jr. of Tucson, Ariz., and Larry Thompson of Delmont.
They also have six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Thompson is retired from Sonneborn Refinery in Petrolia, where he was a chemical worker for 45 years.
Mrs. Thompson is a retired elementary school teacher for 30 years and a Pennsylvania Department of Public Assistance caseworker for seven years.
She is a member of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees.
The Thompsons are members of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Chicora.
The couple only recently had to stop going on traditional three week fishing vacations to Ontario, Canada, which they did for 55 years.
