Jeffreys 95th birthday
Elizabeth Jeffreys of Butler, formerly of Valencia, celebrated her 95th birthday on Sept. 1 with many friends and family at an open house at the Butler YWCA.
The former Elizabeth Ries was born Sept. 3, 1918, in Meyersdale, Pa. She married the late Nathaniel Jeffreys Sr. and lived in Valencia for more than 50 years.
She has two children, Valjean Champ of Butler and Nathaniel Jeffreys Jr. of Penn Township. Her pride and joy are her four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Jeffreys worked for Kaufman’s in Pittsburgh for more than 25 years.
She is a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She has been a proud owner of many Arabian horses. She enjoys reading and quilting and being a self-taught seamstress, avid baker and “green thumb.”
