More housing, dental office proposed
CRANBERRY TWP — The township has two new developments coming. One is a new mixed unit housing plan and apartments and the other is a new building for an existing children’s dentistry office.
Plans were presented Wednesday for The Links of Cranberry and the Cranberry Vista Apartments that will be built at the intersection of Freshcorn and Powell Road near the Cranberry Highland Golf Course.
Architect Dave Lucci of Victor & Wetzel Associates, told supervisors that The Links of Cranberry will include a mix of single-family and townhomes and is being developed by Glen Eden Partners. The Cranberry Vista Apartments will be developed by Morgan Management.
The developments will be on both sides of Freshcorn Road and will be built in phases.
The first phase will be The Links of Cranberry development with 21 single-family homes and 20 town homes.
The second phase will be the construction of the 252 apartments. A park area will be built in each development along with 10 smaller parks scattered through both developments.
The supervisors are expected to vote Nov. 1 on the final plans.
Supervisors also heard plans for a new 6,340-square-foot building for Dentistry for Kids on Route 19. They will vote on those plans next week.
Ron Henshaw, Cranberry’s director of community development, said the building will be constructed on the property of its current office.
The present dentist office would remain open during construction. When construction is done, the existing building would be razed.
