BlueSox explode in 20-10 victory
Richmond pushed across 10 runs against the Butler BlueSox on Wednesday night. However, the RiverRats needed to double that output just to force extra innings.
Grove City graduate Alex Miklos went 4-for-5 with two home runs, a double, six RBIs and three runs scored to lead six Butler hitters with at least three hits in a 20-10 victory over Richmond in Prospect League action.
Matt Albaugh homered in a 4-for-7 effort with four RBIs and three runs scored. Elliott Caldwell was 5-for-7 with a double and four runs scored. Eric Hess was 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles and three RBIs, while Jason Radwan had a double among his four hits. Brendan Constantino was 3-for-6 with two runs and an RBI.
Andrew Elliott picked up the win in the slugfest for Butler (15-11), which sits three games behind the West Virginia Miners for first place in the East Division.
• Giancarlo Brugnoni had a home run and three RBIs and Ryan Cypret added three hits and three runs scored to lead the Chillicothe Paints to a 10-4 victory over the Slippery Rock Sliders Wednesday at Jack Critchfield Park.
• The Paints (15-11), which also received two singles and three RBIs from Matt Fisher, two doubles by Dan Duchowski and two RBI by Nick Lomabrdi, built a 10-0 lead through six innings.
• Trent Wooldridge led the Sliders (9-17) with a single, double and two RBIs and Alex Lang a single and RBI. The Sliders tallied three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning.
• Tyler Backstrom tossed six shutout innings to pick up the win while Ben Rawding allowed seven runs in four innings of work.
The Sliders will host the Butler BlueSox today at 7:05 p.m.
