Monday — A backpack was stolen between noon and 12:20 p.m. from a pickup truck parked near Cici's Pizza at the Moraine Pointe Plaza.

7:05 a.m. Tuesday — A car driven by William Shepardson Jr., 23, of Mars struck a deer that had been previously struck by another vehicle on Interstate 79 in Lancaster Township.Thursday — Several pieces of jewelry were stolen between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. in a burglary at the Schiebel Road home of Susan Hauck in Summit Township.

Tuesday — Authorities are seeking a Rimersburg man suspected in two recent break-ins.State police said Dennis Alan Curry, 30, broke into an elderly man's MillerRoad home in Madison Township and stole about $50. He also took a 2007 Polaris all-terrain vehicle from the victim's garage.Curry, meanwhile, is also wanted in connection with a burglary in nearby New Bethlehem Township. Township police on Thursday filed a burglary charge against the defendant.Tuesday — Jean Fico reported that three "No Trespassing"signs were stolen from the yard at her East Heeter Road home in Perry Township. The theft occurred between 8 p.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Tuesday.4:50 p.m. Sunday — Donald Weibel, 44, of East Brady was arrested for allegedly swinging a metal baseball bat at another man during an altercation on Bodenhorn Road in Monroe Township.Police said the victim, Martin Weibel, 43, of Clarion, suffered minor injuries. Donald Weibel is charged with simple assault, harassment and criminal mischief.

Monday — The state police's Bureau of Liquor Enforcement reported that officers recently cited two Butler County businesses for allegedly violating the state's liquor law.Cited was Monte Cello's, Route 19 in Cranberry Township, for allowing gambling or lotteries on Feb. 3; and Cav's Place on Bessemer Avenue in Lyndora, for illegally refilling liquor bottles on Jan. 23.
