Allegheny Health Network to host 39th Camp KOALA this summer
Allegheny Health Network West Penn Hospital’s Burn Center will host two dozen adolescents for its annual summer camp, Camp KOALA, from Saturday, June 1, through Wednesday, June 5.
The camp will bring its mission of healing, fellowship and hope to area children and teenagers who have sustained burn injuries.
Camp KOALA will be held at Camp Kon-O-Kwee Spencer in Beaver County, beginning at 9 a.m. daily.
It will offer a variety of activities for campers, including swimming, fishing, hiking, archery, arts and crafts, team-building games, wall climbing and peer support groups. Campers can also meet with other burn survivors and share their ongoing journey of recovery.
Now in its 39th year, the overnight camp is free for any child who has been treated at West Penn Burn Center.
