Tuesday - A Butler Township man was arrested and jailed on gun charges following an investigation that also ended in charges against a city man.Miguel Rivera, 28, of 215 Evans City Road is charged with felons not to possess firearms and carrying a firearm without a permit. He was arraigned and placed in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bond.Rivera's arrest came as police investigated a reported theft of a pistol filed by Nathan Lacheski, 29, of 326 Hickory St. The gun was recovered that same day and police determined Lacheski had loaned it to Rivera.Lacheski is charged with false reports to law enforcement authorities and illegally loaning a firearm.

Wednesday - A 4-foot-by-3-foot sign from an unknown church from the Prospect area was found in the township. The owner can claim the property by calling the police station at 724-285-9600.Tuesday - Several cars parked in the AK Steel parking lot were shot overnight with arrows. The cars sustained broken windows and holes in the sides. Anyone with information about the vandalism is asked to call police.Monday - Michael Fazzino, 33, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after police found him sitting in his vehicle in the middle of Route 8 near Pepperland Boulevard.7:15 a.m. Sunday - Jennifer Okeson, 30, of Evans City was arrested for driving under the influence after her vehicle traveled through two yards and struck a drainage ditch along Whitestown Road.

8 a.m. Wednesday - An International truck driven by Brady Vickers, no age given, of Southpoint, Ohio, flipped onto its side while rounding a bend at Route 68 and Windwalker Lane in Oakland Township. Vickers, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries. He was cited for driving too fast for conditions.7:05 a.m. Wednesday - A car driven by Matthew Richard Green, 17, of Evans City struck a wood fence and large rock along Route 528 in Connoquenessing Township.Tuesday - Someone pried open the driver's side door of a car at Moraine State Park in Worth Township and took a purse owned by an Evans City area woman. The theft occurred between 2:15 and 3:30 p.m. at the park's Mountain Bike Trail parking area.Tuesday - A bicycle reported stolen in April was found in Prospect at the Douglas Street home of the suspected thief, a 15-year-old boy whom police did not identify.2:30 p.m. June 9 - A pickup truck driven by Leroy Goepfert, 25, of Saxonburg traveled off Blakely Road, about one mile west of Saxonburg Road in Jefferson Township, and rolled onto its side. The pickup was hauling a trailer at the time. Goepfert was cited for reckless driving, driving on the wrong side of the road, hauling an unregistered trailer, and not wearing a seat belt.
