Ina S. Shannon

Ina S. Shannon, 100, of Cabot passed away peacefully at 10:30 p.m. Saturday at Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Jefferson Township. Ina was formerly of Freeport.

Ina was born in Armstrong County, Sept. 11, 1908, the daughter of the late Harry and Dora (Schrecengost) Spang; and she was the widow of Earl F. Shannon, who passed in 1988.

Mrs. Shannon enjoyed needlework, traveling and spending the winters with her daughter, Gloria, in Arizona.

She is survived by her three daughters, Jean Hughes of Las Vegas, Nev., Louise (Richard) Sweeney of Saxonburg and Gloria McConville of Phoenix, Aris.; a brother, Dale Spang of Weedville, Pa.; and a sister, Lola (Russell) Moore of Clarmont, Fla. Ina is also survived by her seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Smock; and 12 brothers and sisters.

<B>SHANNON</B> — Family and friends of Ina S. Shannon, who died Saturday, June 20, 2009, are being received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in <B>Redmond Funeral Home Inc.</B>, 524 High St., Freeport. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev.
