Rosalie Bentley of Kendale Road, Columbus, Ohio, died Friday at Ohio State University's James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute. She was 59.

Embracing the Catholic faith, she fought hard and with the utmost fervor for her family and with great human dignity from the first diagnosis in August 2008 before finally succumbing to complications from her illness. This remarkable and faithful woman never forgot that we are not made for this world.

Mrs. Bentley is survived by her husband, Barry Lester Bentley, of Columbus, Ohio. The couple was married in Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Houston, Texas, in 1984.

She was a daughter of Mary Benson Weiland, who died Dec. 21, 2007, and Ralph B. Weiland, who died May 15, 1991. She was preceded in death by her sister, Rita Ehrman, who died, Dec. 31, 2005.

Mrs. Bentley was a homemaker and a member of Dominican Friars St. Patrick Church in Columbus, Ohio. She also provided time and support to Veritas Catholic Bookstore in Houston, Texas, and the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) in Irondale, Ala.

Rosalie Bentley loved her Catholic faith, promoting the sacraments of the Catholic Church and the institution of Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at parishes around the country.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by six sisters, Mary Ann Mellish of Chicora, Cecelia Schmeider and her husband, Herbert, Elizabeth Green and her husband, Peter, Peggy Dickman and her husband, Rodney, Norine Rowley, and Shirley Garing and her husband, Jerry, all of Butler; three brothers, Guy Weiland and his wife, Cindy, and Leonard Weiland and his wife, Beth, and Gerald Weiland, all of Butler; three brothers-in-law, Robert Leland Bentley of Santa Monica, Calif., William Keenan Bentley and his wife, Melissa Wilson, of Studio City, Calif., and Albert Brian Bentley and his wife, May, of Katy, Texas; one sister-in-law, Patricia Ann Wambold and her husband, Richard, of Lake Forest, Ill.; 31 nieces and nephews; and 22 great-nieces and great-nephews.

<B>BENTLEY </B>— Friends of Rosalie Bentley, who died Friday, June 12, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. in Butler. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church in Carbon Center.
