7:43 p.m. Tuesday — Michael J. Young, 32, of Butler was charged with being a habitual offender for driving with a suspended driver's license, following a traffic stop at Point Plaza shopping center. Police also cited Young for driving with no insurance and without registration, and an open container violation.
1:30 a.m. Thursday — Mitchell J. Ferguson was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Red Brush Road near Coaltown Road in Cherry Township.1:10 a.m. Thursday — Jason M. Giza, 26, of Butler was arrested for allegedly threatening Hannah Giza, 24, of Butler with a. 45-caliber handgun during a domestic dispute at a Reay Lane home in Jefferson Township.Jason Giza was arraigned on charges of terroristic threats, simple assault, reckless endangerment and harassment, and placed in Butler County Prison on $10,000 bond.10:27 p.m. Wednesday —Someone fired a shotgun at a mailbox at Robert Shawgo's house on Coaltown Road in Cherry Township.4:49 p.m. Wednesday — Atruck driven by Jeffery Slater, no age given, of Saxonburg lost its load on Dinnerbell Road in Jefferson Township. Slater was cited for not securing the load.Wednesday — Alarge cast iron pot was stolen from the front yard at the Hall Road home of Randall Anderson in Brady Township. The pot is 2 feet high and 30 inches in diameter, and it has a crack down the side of it. The pot is valued at $200.1:23 p. m. Tuesday — Acar driven by Olive Hulick, 87, and a pickup truck driven by Robert Gallagher, 84, both of Prospect, collided on Route 488 near Route 422 in Franklin Township.Tuesday — Police charged Scott A. Wiest, 22, of Clay Township for DUI stemming from a Dec. 1 crash in Brady Township. The crash occurred about 7:25 p.m. when Wiest's pickup struck an embankment and rolled several times on Muddy Creek Drive. Wiest also was cited for careless driving, a lane violation and not wearing a seat belt.Sunday — A burglar stole 12 guns from the Logan Road home of Edward and Gayle Ferree in Middlesex Township. Police did not identify the guns, only noting they were of various calibers and styles. Awedding band was also taken in the burglary that occurred between Dec. 5 and Sunday.Sunday — Matthew Moorhouse of DuBois, Clearfield County, reported that between 5:30 and 6 alaptop computer was taken from his apartment at Ivy Apartments in Slippery Rock.
2:32 a.m. Sunday — Travis Wack, 18, of Harmony and his passenger were traveling along Route 19 when Wack fell asleep and his vehicle struck a road sign and hillside near the entrance to Creekside Commons shopping plaza. No injuries were reported. Wack received a traffic citation from police.7:23 a.m. Dec. 6 — A vehicle driven by Nicholas Perry, 17, of Harmony was turning on to School Road from Little Creek Road, when he pulled into path of a vehicle driven by Cheryl Melvin, 59, of Greenville. Moderate to heavy damage was reported to both vehicles. No injuries were reported.9:04 p.m. Dec. 1 — A vehicle driven by Brittany Oakley, 17, of Seven Fields was traveling north on Pattison Street when she lost control on a curve. The vehicle struck a hillside and flipped onto its side. No injuries were reported.
