Muddycreek barn destroyed in fire

Fire crews battle a barn fire at the Jesteadt Acres farm on Ragan Road in Muddy Creek Township on May 4, 2020.

Fire crews are battling a barn fire at the Jesteadt Acres farm on Ragan Road in Muddy Creek Township.

The call came in about 9:40 a.m. and the owner, Bob Jesteadt, was able to get beef cattle out of the barn, authorities said.

Hay was also stored in the barn that included a building attached to it. The main barn and the cement block building are destroyed.

Crews from more than a half dozen companies are battling the blaze. Water is being use from a nearby pond.

Firefighters targeted two silos next to the barn, hitting the structures with water to prevent them catching fire.
