Rodgers 60th anniversary
Charles "Buck" and Mary "Ruth" Rodgers of Butler will celebrate 60 years of marriage with a family dinner tonight at Serventi's Restaurant in Butler. An open house will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at their home. No gifts are requested.
Rodgers married the former Mary Ruth Graham on Nov. 11, 1948, at the Mater Dolorosa Church in Chicora.
They have six children, Charles Rodgers Jr. of Butler, Terri Flemming of Petrolia, Shirley Vernon of Butler, Donna Snyder of Fenelton, Suzie Parker of Chicora and Lucy Amerson of Butler.
They also have 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Rodgers retired in 1989 after working for 22 years at DuBrook Cement in Butler. He enjoys hunting, golfing and working on the farm.
Mrs. Rodgers was a housekeeper and a homemaker. She enjoys gardening, baking, socializing and spending time with her family.
The Rodgers are members of the St. Wendelin Roman Catholic Church in Butler.
