Severe thunderstorm warning affects portion of Butler County into early afternoon
The National Weather Service of Pittsburgh has issued a severe thunderstorm warning through 1 p.m. for a portion of Butler County.
Two warnings have been issued since noon today.
The most recent, issued before 12:30 p.m., affects a significant portion of Butler County, including Butler, Chicora, Mars, Hilliards, Slippery Rock and Saxonburg.
An earlier warning, issued shortly after noon Thursday, affects Zelienople, Callery, Meridian, Prospect and West Liberty through 12:30 p.m.
The alerts warn of winds up to 60 miles per hour and possible penny-sized hail.
