ZELIENOPLE — Applications still are being accepted for a parade taking place during the borough’s 175th anniversary this month.

The two-hour long parade is being organized by the Zelienople Rotary Club and the Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau. In addition to the parade, the tourism bureau also is handling the money for the event.

The parade will be at 11 a.m. May 30 at Zelienople Community Park.

Jack Cohen, president of the tourism bureau, said the parade will feature a “reverse history” of events. The parade will chronicle borough history starting with horses and historical re-enactors and older vehicles before moving to modern vehicles and floats.

Organizers still hope to find additional re-enactors, as well as other groups from different eras.

Anyone interested in being part of the parade is asked to print out an application on the tourism bureau’s website at visitbutlercounty.com or call the bureau at 724-234-4619.
