Craig, Shaffer

New York City residents April Craig and Peter Shaffer were united in marriage at 4 p.m. July 31 at St. Paul Church in Butler. Deacon Mitch Natali officiated, with participation from the Rev. J. David Panther of First United Methodist Church. A reception followed at Shakespeare's in Ellwood City.

The bride is the daughter of Bruce and Lisa Craig of Butler. Parents of the bridegroom are Pete and Janie Shaffer of Butler.

The honor attendant was Kimberly Walker of Cranberry Township. Bridesmaids included Rebecca Rhodes of East Rutherford, N.J.; Abby Hooks of Nutley, N.J.; Kelly Ruoff of New York City; Pamela Terbeest of Boston and Aradhna Saxena of Philadelphia.

The best man was the groom's brother, John Shaffer of Pittsburgh. Groomsmen included Derek Brown of New York City; Ethan Gallagher of Columbia, S.C.; Gregory Welsch and Brian Newmark, both of Washington, D.C.; and Brian Olivo of Atlanta.

The bride is a 1995 graduate of Butler High School, a 1999 graduate of Slippery Rock University and a 2002 graduate of Columbia University. She works as an occupational therapist for New York University Hospital's Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine.

The groom is a 1995 graduate of Butler High School and a 1999 graduate of Penn State University. He works for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals.

Following a honeymoon trip to Hawaii, the couple is making their home in New York City.
