Hazel M. Michael

Hazel Marie Michael, 56, of Victory Township, Venango County, died at 1:23 p.m. Sunday at the Grove City Medical Center due to complications with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Born March 8, 1950, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late James and Betty Byers Snow.

She was a Methodist and had attended the Moniteau High School.

Mrs. Michael was employed at Orchard Manor, Grove City, for 28 years. She also held several positions with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Local 2893, including president.

She enjoyed the company of her dog, Samson, the ocean and crafting.

Surviving are three children, Tina Wolfe and her husband, Mike, of Emlenton, Joseph Swartz Jr. and his wife, Wendy, of Tampa, Fla., and Kelly Huling and her husband, Matt, Jersey Shore, Pa.; and two stepdaughters, Lisa Alcorn and her husband, Dennis, of Wesley and Susan Barr and her husband, Jim, North Ridgefield, Ohio.

Also surviving are her companion, Patrick Maurice at home; a sister, Jennie Reckner and her husband, Bud, of Karns City; six brothers, Terry and Clarence Snow, both Eau Claire, Ronald and Douglas Byers, both Polk, James Snow and his wife, Ellen, of Emlenton and Ernie Byers and his wife, Diane, of Russell, Mass.; 10 grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

On June 6, 1990, she was married William W. Michael. He died Dec. 31, 1997. She also was preceded in death by a son, Robert James Swartz; a sister, Sybol Redmond; a brother, Harmon Snow; her stepfather, Harry Byers; her father-in-law, Orben Gooden; and her grandparents, Carrie and Harmon Snow and Bill and Emma Ferguson.

<B>MICHAEL </B>— Friends of Hazel Marie Michael, who died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>Cunningham Funeral Home</B>, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Barry Mahnoney, associate pastor of the Butler Church of the Nazarene, officiating.Burial will be at Crestview Memorial Park, Grove City.
