Richard E. Hilliard

Richard Ellsworth Hilliard, 81, of Ontario Center, N.Y., formerly of Butler, died Friday at Rochester General Hospital.

Born Dec. 9, 1926, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Russell Harvey and Grace Elisabeth Day Hilliard.

He was a member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ and the Scottish Rite of Rochester, N.Y.

Mr. Hilliard was a World War II Army veteran and had been a Butler Township Police officer for 10 years. He also was an inspector for Xerox in New York for more than 19 years.

Surviving are his wife, June A. Cress Hilliard, who he married Nov. 26, 1965; a daughter, Amy G. Hilliard of Denver, Colo.; a son, Richard E. Hilliard II and his wife, Laura, of West Henrietta, N.Y.; and a grandson, James W. Hilliard.

He was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Jackson R. Hilliard; and two brothers, Phillip R. and Kenneth R. Hilliard.

<B>HILLIARD</B> — Friends of Richard Ellsworth Hilliard, who died Friday, June 13, 2008, will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, Butler, where services will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John Neyman officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Burial Estates.Victory Lodge 694 will hold Masonic services at 11 a.m. Thursday.Information is available at www.youngfuneralhomes.com.
