Marian H. Townsend, 92, of Elyria, Ohio, formerly of Butler, died Wednesday.

She was the wife of the late George H. Townsend, who died July 22, 1995.

Marian was born July 14, 1917, in Wellsboro, Tioga County, the daughter of Amelia Hemker.

She was a retired housekeeper, a member of the Nixon United Methodist Church in Nixon, and she loved crocheting.

Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Emily and Clifford Siegert of Elyria, Ohio, Janet and Daniel Kremin of Malvern, Pa., and Alidra and Ronald Walker of Penrose, Colo.; sons and daughters-in-law, Henry and Connie Townsend of Penrose, Colo., Larry and MaryAnn Townsend of Sarver and Daryl and Debbie Townsend of Butler; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a stepsister, Verna Austin; and stepbrothers, Hugh and Cleve Horton.
