John L. Brooks
John L. Brooks, 65, of Harrisville, formerly of Slippery Rock, died at 3:03 a.m. Friday at Grove City Medical Center.
Born June 29, 1942, in Slippery Rock, he was the son of Levi and Mary Ellen Brooks.
He had been a journeyman electrician with IBEW 10, retiring in 2004. He formerly worked for Fuelgraff Electric of Butler.
He attended Harmony Presbyterian Church in Harrisville. He was an active volunteer at the Seneca Hills Bible Conference, as well as an avid hunter and fisherman.
He graduated from Slippery Rock High School.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lee Hoover Blair Brooks, who he married July 9, 2005; a daughter, Leigh Ann Powell of Harrisville; two sisters, Delores Templeton of Maryland and Lucille Sharbach of Tennessee; four stepchildren, Linda Johnson of Kittanning, Ann Young of Butler, Laura Jordan of Atlanta and Sam Blair of Wexford; two grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Hildebrandt Brooks, who he married June 5, 1964, and who died March 15, 2003; his parents; and one brother.

Services will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at Harmony Presbyterian Church, Harrisville, with the Rev.
