CARTER COUNTRY — Rosalyn Carter has a handshake and a few words for Carl Brown of Prospect on April 26, 1976, as she began her day with an appearance at the Armco main gate. The wife of Democratic presidential candidate Jimmy Carter later met with supporters for a breakfast at Perkin’s Pancake House, then moved on to Pittsburgh on the eve of the Pennsylvania primary. At right is Slippery Rock professor Donald Megnin, a candidate for delegate to the Democratic National Convention committed to Carter.
