In June 1971, these four Knoch High School majorettes, along with most of the 120 members of the Knoch High School Band, did some fundraising in Butler as part of their efforts to raise $12,000 to send the band to Miami. The band was invited to participate in the Miss Universe Parade in July marching in front of the float carrying classmate Michele McDonald, Miss U.S.A., who was competing for the title of Miss Universe.
