Robert F. Downing, 54, of Prospect, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024.

He was born in Butler on July 25, 1969, to Patricia (Pizer) Downing and the late Henry Downing.

Robert belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved sports, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins. He was known for helping anyone with anything they needed and having a loving and kind personality. He was loved and forever will be missed.

Along with his mother, Robert is survived by his brothers, Henry (Melony) Downing Jr. and Randy (Lauren Wines) Downing; and his nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, and his sister, Valerie Hemphill.

The family would like to thank the paramedics and medical staff at Butler Memorial Hospital.

DOWNING — All services for Robert F. Downing, who died Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024, will be held privately through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. A graveside service will be held at a later date.
