State Police, Butler12:23 a.m. Thursday — Four people were injured when acar driven by Mugaza Mugaza, 58, of Pittsburgh and a truck driven by Martin Gentile, 48, of Erie collided on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township. The truck rolled onto its side after the collision.Both drivers and two passengers in the car, Jay Muya, 38, and Khadija Muganga, 23, both of Pittsburgh, all suffered minor injuries.3:20 p.m. Wednesday — Apickup truck driven by Amanda Smail, 25, of Grove City slid on an ice patch and struck a building along South Benbrook Road in Center Township. Police said Smail faces a charge for driving too fast for conditions.Tuesday — Jason Ralph Porter, 28, of Portersville waived his preliminary hearing on a charge of receiving stolen property stemming from the 2007 theft of a Honda Accord owned by a Beaver County man.Investigators in December found the stolen car on Route 422 in Franklin Township. Aforensics investigation turned up apalm print that led police to Porter. Apolice report noted that the defendant and victim do not know one another.Police on Feb. 19 filed charges against Porter.2 p.m. Saturday — Keely Morrison of Franklin, Venango County, reported that an unknown thief took herbrown purse from a bench near Claires and Gamestop in the lobby area of the Clearview Mall in Center Township.Feb. 20 — Police charged two men in connection with the January break-in of a Forward Township cabin and the theft of steel concrete forms on three separate occasions in January and February at the Hillvue Lane property.An all-terrain vehicle also was stolen from a shed.Police said William Blake McCandless, 20, of Butler and Troy Robert Cypher, 19, of Cabot admitted to the crimes at the cabin property of Richard Casciato of Pittsburgh.The men allegedly scrapped the steel concrete forms and kept the ATV.The defendants are charged with burglary and multiple counts of theft and receiving stolen property. Preliminary hearings are scheduled March 5.

State Police, Clarion7:30 p.m. Tuesday — Daniel Torchia, 18, of Rimersburg was arrested for allegedly assaulting a 20-year-old Rimersburg woman at a Route 68 home in Toby Township. Police said Torchia also threatened to seriously harm the woman if she went to police.Torchia was arraigned on charges of terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment, and placed in the Clarion County Jail on $20,000 bail.4 p.m. Tuesday — A pickup truck driven by Dennis Whitmore Jr., 21, of Parker struck a tree along Route 478 in Richland Township.
