WORTH TWP, Mercer County - The following cases were heard May 5 by District Justice Lawrence Silvis:

Steven W. Guthrie Jr., 22, of Sandy Lake was held for court on two counts of driving under the influence, driving at an unsafe speed and careless driving after a traffic stop April 30 on Fox Mine Road and Route 62 in Jackson Township. Guthrie was released on $1,000 unsecured bail on the condition that he refrain from using alcohol and is not present where alcohol is served.

Emilee L. Gustkey, 21, of 7190 Ridge Road, Butler, was held for court on two counts of driving under the influence, disregarding a traffic lane and careless driving after a traffic stop April 26 on Route 258 near Brent Road in Liberty Township. Gustkey was released on a $1,000 bond on the condition she refrain from using alcohol and from being present where alcohol is served.

Madeline M. Bender, 38, of Jackson Center was held for court on two counts of driving under the influence, disregarding a traffic lane and careless driving after a traffic stop April 11 at Route 62 and Branch Street in Stoneboro. Bender was released on a $3,000 bond on the condition that she appear in court as directed, refrain from using alcohol and illegal drugs and be fingerprinted.

Andrew P. Bradford, 20, of Mercer pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and engaging in a fight after a domestic dispute April 30 in Grove City. Bradford's 3- to 6-month jail sentence was suspended to a year's probation on the condition he have no contact with the victim, pay all medical bills relating to the incident that are not covered by the victim's insurance and pay $888 in fees and restitution.

Robert T. Carlo, 36, of Sharpsville was held for court on charges of receiving stolen property after $3,000, coins and jewelry were taken from 126 Sharp Road, Sandy Lake, between September 1999 and October 1999. Carlo was released on $5,000 unsecured bail.

Terry A. Short, 43, of Kansas City, Kansas, pleaded guilty to the use and possession of drug paraphernalia after police found the items in his car after it became stuck in a ditch on George Junior Road and Cranberry Road in Pine Township. He also was arrested for driving with a suspended license.

Patrick R. Thomas, 20, of Sandy Lake, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and engaging in a fight after a domestic dispute April 19 in New Lebanon. His 1- to 3-year jail sentence was suspended to a year's probation with the condition he have no contact with the victim, does not return to the residence, refrain from using alcohol or being present where alcohol is served, report to a probation officer within 48 hours, submit to a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with treatment, and engage in neutral party exchange with the couple's children.
