Police: Man fires gun during altercation in Clinton Township

A man is accused of firing a weapon during an altercation to scare someone off his Clinton Township property last month, according to state police.

Joshua K. Sipp, 29, of Saxonburg, was charged with misdemeanors terroristic threats, simple assault and reckless endangerment and summary harassment after police responded to a disturbance on Jan. 27, 2023.

Police said Sipp reported a woman he knew arrived at his residence, banged on his door and screamed obscenities.

Documents show Sipp engaged in a physical altercation with the woman, punching her in the neck. Police said Sipp then retrieved a shotgun from his residence.

Sipp said he fired the gun into the woods to scare off the woman from his property, according to police.

Sipp’s preliminary hearing is scheduled March 5 before District Judge Jack Ripper.
