✓ Nine short, independent films directed by women will be presented as SRU hosts Lunafest at 7 p.m. today in the Advanced Technology and Science Hall. General admission is $5; SRU students pay $3.

The Kaplan Duo, comprised of pianists Nanette Kaplan Solomon, SRU professor of music, and her sister, Iris Kaplan Rosenthal, will premiere new works by Stephen Barr, SRU assistant professor of music, and New Castle composer Judy Bruce at upcoming concerts in Greensburg and Youngstown, Ohio.

Recitals will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Seton Hill College's Performing Arts Center in Greensburg, and at 3 p.m. Sunday at Youngstown State University's Bliss Recital Hall.

✓ GCC hosts a New Castle Camera Club exhibition through Nov. 10 at the Pew Fine Arts Center Art Gallery.Gallery hours are noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday; and evenings during Pew Fine Arts Center events.✓ The musical comedy “The Apple Tree” will be performed by GCC students at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Nov. 10 in Ketler Auditorium of the Pew Fine Arts Center.Senior Joel Richardson of Butler is a lead performer and the choreographer.Tickets are free and can be reserved by e-mailing theatertickets@gcc.edu or by calling 724-458-3331.

✓ Theatre Westminster will present “The Drowsy Chaperone” through Sunday in Beeghly Theater. Curtain is 7:30 p.m. today through Saturday and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.Tickets are $15 for adults, and $10 for senior citizens and non-Westminster students. Reservations can be made online by following the “ticket reserve” link at www.westminster.edu/drama.✓ Westminster’s department of communication studies, theatre and art will host a gallery opening of sculptural paintings from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Monday at the Foster Art Gallery in Patterson Hall. The event is free to the public.The exhibition runs through Dec. 7. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
