Floyd W. Bicker, 97, of Concordia at the Orchard, formerly of Sarver, passed away at 3:10 p.m. Saturday at Concordia at the Orchard.

Born in Cabot, July 13, 1913, he was the son of the late George Oscar Bicker and Laura Ross Bicker.

Mr. Bicker was retired from the roll shop maintenance department at the Allegheny Ludlum Steel mill in Brackenridge.

He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Sarver.

Mr. Bicker was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II in the European theater. He was the recipient of a Purple Heart.

Mr. Bicker was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine L. Burd Bicker, on Oct. 24, 2005. They were married Oct. 4, 1941.

Surviving are one daughter, Janet E. Kriss of New Martinsville, W.Va.; one son, Russell F. Bicker of Slippery Rock; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; and two sisters, Mrs. Betty Rieser and Mrs. Ida Smith, both of Concordia Haven.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one brother.
