4:15 p.m. Thursday - Cars driven by Ruth Shulik, 80, of 151 Schramm Road and Patricia Johnston, 72, of 122 Credstview Road collided at Morton and Walker avenues.
5:09 p.m. Thursday - Cars driven by Joyce Baird, 50, of Barbara Kaufold, 56, both of Butler collided on Route 8 at the entrance to Butler Medical Associates. Kaufold was taken with undisclosed injuries to Butler Memorial Hospital.4:15 p.m. Thursday - A northbound car driven by Michael Haller, 18, of Butler struck the rear of a pickup truck on Route 8 South near Decatur Drive, traveled about 220 feet across the southbound lanes and hit a curb and road sign in front of Cars and Credit.The car became airborne and flipped over three or four times before hitting a light pole and landing on its roof.Haller and Joshua Meehan, 21, of Butler, both of whom were wearing seat belts, were taken with minor injuries to Butler Memorial Hospital. The driver of the truck, John Choff, 55, of Butler, was not injured.Police said two cars parked in the Cars and Credit parking lot were damaged by flying debris in the crash.
4 p.m. Tuesday - Randall A. Peevey, 26, of303 W. Main St.,Grove City was arrested at his residence and charged with theft, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief.The charges stem from an incident on March 24 when bicycles were taken from Edgewood Avenue and Grant Street. Peevey was placed in Mercer County Jail pending arraignment.9 p.m. Saturday - Matthew Haefner, 26, of Parker was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after being stopped for driving approximately 80 mph on South Broad Street. In addition to DUI, Haefner was cited for speeding, careless driving and driving under suspension.Noon Saturday - Gerald Cooper reported his home at 220 W. Pine St., Apt. 2, was burglarized between noon April 3 and noon Saturday.Taken was a Johnson flat-top acoustic guitar, a Fender electric guitar, and a computer. The stolen property is valued at more than $1,900.April 9 - Richard Johnson reported that someone slashed the left side tires of his 1996 Honda Accord, which was parked at his Ridgeway Avenue residence.3 a.m. April 9 - Charles Gibbs II, 33, of Grove City was arrested for driving under the influence on Mill Street.8:21 p.m. April 9 - A 6-year-old child was taken to United Community Hospital after he ran in front of a vehicle on Edgewood Avenue and was struck.The vehicle was driven by Bruce Williams, 52, of Grove City.The child was released Sunday from Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh after being evaluated for head injuries. No charges were filed.
2:15 p.m. Thursday - A car driven by Melissa Congalton, 20, of Saxonburg struck a tree along Cherry Valley Road in Clinton Township. Congalton, who told police the crash occurred when she swerved her car to avoid a white van in the middle of the road, suffered minor injuries. She was not wearing a seat belt.April 5 - Two vending machines were taken and three others were pried open at a pair of North Main Street businesses in Center Township.Police said two vending machines were taken from a wall at the Route 8 Car Wash and three other machines were entered at the Sunoco station. Anyone with information about the vandalism that occurred between 4 p.m. April 4 and 7:30 a.m. April 5 is asked to call the barracks at 724-284-8100.10 p.m. March 21 - An unidentified car struck a fence and traveled through a yard at the West Slippery Rock Street home of Ruth Claypoole in Fairview Township, and did not stop following the crash.
