Peoples encourages customers to apply for help on energy bills

Peoples Natural Gas is encouraging customers experiencing financial hardship to apply for help with their natural gas bills this National Energy Assistance Day, which was Feb. 1.

Peoples customers in Pennsylvania can apply for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, or LIHEAP, a federally funded assistance program through the Department of Human Services. LIHEAP offers grants starting at $300 for eligible customers that are applied directly to their Peoples accounts, according to a news release from Peoples.

In addition to LIHEAP, Peoples offers several programs to support those in need with bills and home repairs or improvements that increase energy efficiency.

People who need assistance can call 1-800-400-9276 or visit peoples-gas.com/help to learn more.
