David M. Hammel

David M. Hammel, 65, of Cranberry Township passed away on Saturday evening, Jan. 27, 2024, with his family by his side.

Born in Pittsburgh on Nov. 20, 1958, he was the son of Elizabeth Ann Hoehle Hammel and the late Edwin J. Hammel.

Before his illness, David worked for Teletracking Technologies as a Healthcare Operations IT Professional. He also loved being outdoors, traveling and riding his BMW motorcycle.

He will be greatly missed by his son, Jacob (Rachel) Hammel and his grandson, Boston; his siblings, Judy (Gary) Willoughby, Ron (Debbie) Hammel, Susan (Joe) Kalinyak, Patty Conway and Diane Hammel; his mother, Elizabeth “Betty” Hammel; and his brother-in-law, Tim Walsh. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

David was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Hammel; a sister, Mary Ann Walsh; and a brother-in-law, Greg Brichacek.

HAMMEL — Friends of David M. Hammel, who died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at MCDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.

A blessing service will follow at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Fr. Charles Bober officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to UPMC of Pittsburgh Alzheimer’s Research Center, 200 Lothrop St., Pittsburgh, PA 15213.
