David G. “Gus” Rensel, 69, of Butler, passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2024.

He was the son of the late David L. and Juanita “Rusty” (Riott) Rensel.

He was an avid outdoorsman and an accomplished hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed camping, boating, canoeing and gardening. He was a member of the Summit Township Sportsman Club and South Butler Volunteer Fire Department.

Dave is survived by his wife of 40 years, Cheryl (Girard) Rensel, and their children, Eric Rensel and Alyssa (Fred Pinto) Rensel. He also is survived by two sisters and one brother, and their spouses; one sister-in-law and her husband; one brother-in-law; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

RENSEL — Per his wishes, funeral services for David G. “Gus” Rensel, who died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2024, were held privately at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. Burial was held at St. Michael Roman Catholic Cemetery, in Butler.
