Darryl J. Bergbigler, 73, of Butler passed away Monday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

He was born Dec. 28, 1937, in Butler, to the late Leo J. Bergbigler and Verna Oesterling Bergbigler.

Mr. Bergbigler worked for 30 years as a park ranger at Moraine State Park.

He was a member of the Lick Hill Volunteer Fire Department.

Mr. Bergbigler enjoyed playing cards and building puzzles.

Surviving are his wife Nancy, who he married Aug. 30, 1958; one son, Daniel Bergbigler and his wife, Crystal; three daughters, Donna Jenkins and her husband, Gary, Patricia Thompson and her husband, Ronald, and Diana Matuke and her husband, Frank; five grandchildren; two stepgranddaughters; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Wayne Bergbigler and his wife, Bonnie; and one sister, Jean Johns.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Bergbigler; and one nephew, Brian Bergbigler.

BERGBIGLER — Friends of Darryl J. Bergbigler, who died Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at

Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler. Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor David L. West, of GraceWay Community Church, officiating.
