CONNOQUENESSING TWP — The 4-H Junior Livestock Sale at last week’s Butler Farm Show brought in a total of $200,887.
The categories and winning bids include:
• Poultry Meat Pens — 20 pens sold for $9,175.00.
The Grand Champion of Hunter Lefever of Butler was sold for $2,500, a new record, to J. K. Hydraulics Inc., Butler.
The Reserved Grand Champion was sold by Megal McCarty of Butler for $900 to Rex Energy of State College.
• Rabbit Meat Pens — 7 pens sold for a total of $3,650.
The Grand Champion was sold by Angela Kelley of Evans City for $1,500, a new record, to Amerikohl Mining Inc., Butler.
The Reserve Grand Champion was sold by Grace Swope of Evans City for $500 to Rex Energy of State College.
• Market Goats — 19 sold for a total of $5,354.
The average price per pound (with champions) was $3.66; the average price per pound (without the champions) was $3.22.
The Grand Champion was sold by Mikeal Finklea of West Sunbury for $773 ($8.50 per pound) to Lewis Stoughton of Cabot.
The Reserve Champion was sold by Samatha Erskine of Butler for $465 ($5 per pound) to ESB Bank of Ellwood City
• Hogs — 66 sold for a total of $44,856.
The average price per pound (with champions) was $2.67; the average price per pound (without champions) was $2.39.
The Grand Champion was sold by Matthew Drobezko of Slippery Rock for $3,575 ($13 per pound) to Rex Energy of State College.
