Hazel Irene Moore
Hazel Irene Moore, 92, of Center Drive, Chicora, died at 4:05 p.m. Monday at Chicora Medical Center, where she had been a patient since June.
Born in Chicora, Aug. 16. 1912, she was the daughter of Clyde A. and Della Rumbaugh Wilson.
She retired from the office of Castle Rubber in East Butler after 29 years.
Mrs. Moore was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church near Chicora. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and gardening.
Surviving are two sons, Raymond W. Moore and his wife, Vonda, of Chicora and William H. Moore and his wife, Edith, of Springfield, Va.; two daughters, Suzanne Moore of Chicora and Harriet A. Edwards of Center Drive, Chicora, with whom she had made her home; two grandsons, Roger Moore and his wife, Judi, of Clarendon and Jeffrey Moore and his wife, Lisa, of Chicora; two granddaughters, Susan Beth Edwards of Butler and Carol Moore of Springfield, Va.; three great-grandchildren, Zachary, Brooke and Alexis Moore, all of Chicora; two step-great-granddaughters, Ashley and Lacy Abraham, both of Sheffield; and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Harry G. Moore, whom she married Nov. 13, 1933, in Butler, died March 8, 1989. She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Wilson and Mrs. Margaret Nunemaker.
MOORE - Friends of Hazel Irene Moore, who died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME, 111 E. Slippery Rock St., Chicora. Visitation also will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church, 266 Zion Church Road, Chicora, where services will follow at 11 a.m. with Dave Adams, lay minister, officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
