Slippery Rock University's Sarah Arsenault was named PSAC West Women's Soccer Athlete of the Year for the second consecutive year.Arsenault earned first-team honors for the fourth consecutive year. She was one of six Rock women named to the all-PSAC team.Joining Arsenault on the first team were senior midfielder Emma Wright, junior defender Cheryl Wickerham and freshman midfielder Jaimi Wilson.Junior midfielder Julie Kirwan and sophomore forward Lauren Steele received second-team All-PSAC West honors.
Three members of the Slippery Rock University men's soccer team received second-team All-PSAC honors Thursday in voting by the conference's coaches.Rock players honored were junior midfielder David Keller, junior forward Justin Riggle and freshman defender and Slippery Rock High School graduate Chris Byers.All three players earned all-conference honors for the first time as well.
Dennis Gearhart, a sophomore running back on the Waynesburg College football team, was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America College Division District II Team second-team list.Gearhart, a graduate of Freeport High School, is majoring in elementary education and has a 3.63 grade point average.
