Saxonburg Police receive AED donation
Allegheny Kiski Health Foundation has donated an automated external defibrillator to the Saxonburg Police.
The donation was made possible by Robert Makowski, who serves on the Friends of the Saxonburg Police Board of Directors. Makowski is also the executive director of COPS-1, an agency which provides personal safety training for foundation personnel several times a year.
“This is an important piece of equipment,” said Saxonburg police chief Joseph Beachem. “As first responders, officers are trained in CPR but having an AED in the patrol vehicle can increase the survival rate of victims and help to save lives.”
