Walter L. Gilmore

Walter L. Gilmore, 68, an 11-year resident of Browntown Road, Harrisville, died at 1:36 p.m. Sunday at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, following an extended illness. He had been a patient at AGH since Nov. 29.

Born in Venango County, Dec. 24, 1941, he was the son of Paul Gilmore and Vivian Hoffman Gilmore.

He married Maxine G. Welton on May 5, 1962.

Mr. Gilmore retired in 1998 from the Bureau of Printing and Engraving, Washington D.C., where he was a steamfitter.

He was a member of the West Unity Community Church, Harrisville.

Surviving are his wife, Maxine, at home; a son, Michael T. Gilmore of Stafford, Va.; a grandson, Colton Gilmore; and two brothers, Ed Gilmore of Clintonville and John Gilmore and his wife Sandy, of York, Pa.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

<B>GILMORE</B> — Visitation for Walter L. Gilmore, who died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at <B>Cunningham Funeral Home</B>, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the West Unity Community Church, 400 Unity Road, Harrisville, with the Rev. Boyd Smith, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be in the Old Log Cemetery, Irwin Township, Venango County.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
