Youth compete in qualifier
LYNDORA — Nick Huff rolled a 621 series last weekend to win the 176 average and up portion of the Tournament of Stars bowling qualifier at Sherwood Lanes.
Huff, who carries a 200 average and bowls out of Sherwood Lanes, rolled games of 207, 248 and 266. Stephen Warych of Pines Plaza was second with a 636 series.
The Tournament of Stars is a Butler County USBC Youth Association event. It features monthly qualifying tournaments from October through February with the TOS championship tourney taking place in March.
Other average category winners included:
161-175: Baylee Verner of Sherwood Lanes and Family Bowlaway with a 606 series. She rolled a 220 game and her average is 170.
146-160: Derek Weaver of Mars with a 486 series.
131-145: Rocco Rice of Sherwood Lanes with a 590 series. He rolled a 234 game and averages 142.
116-130: Jonathon Kelly of Mars with a 483 series. He rolled games of 178 and 174 and averages 129.
Up to 115: Natalie Erskine of Family Bowlaway with a 492 series. She rolled games of 166 and 160 and averages 114.
