Harbor Creek drops Eagles

Dale Murczynski rushed for 197 yards and two touchdowns Friday night as Harbor Creek defeated Grove City, 34-21, in high school football.

The loss spoiled a versatile effort by Grove City's Jesse Alfreno, who had 142 yards rushing and 105 yards receiving.

Alfreno scored on an 80-yard run in the first quarter and on an 89-yard touchdown pass from Jim Jaskowak in the fourth.

Harbor Creek scored 27 points in the second half.

Redbank Valley 47, Union 0 -

The Bulldogs scored 40 points in the first quarter in this mutual season opener.

Skyler Smith paced Redbank with 100 yards rushing and three touchdowns. Bryne Miller rushed for a pair of touchdowns and Nick Johnston caught a 41-yard touchdown pass. Zach Wanniger returned an interception 26 yards for a score.

Colton Davis had 13 carries for 70 yards for Union, which suffered five turnovers.

Clarion-Limestone 42, A-C Valley 8

- Hayden Johnston was unstoppable.

The Clarion-Limestone quarterback threw four touchdown passes and ran for another as Clarion-Limestone rolled to a win over A-C Valley.

Johnston was 14-of-24 passing for 230 yards. He also scored on an 84-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter that made the score 36-0.

Colt Burk rushed for 60 yards on 10 carries for A-C Valley, which scored its lone touchdown on an 85-yard kickoff return by Rocco Crapis.

New Brighton 41, Summit Academy 14

- The Knights trailed 41-0 in the fourth quarter before getting two touchdowns by Zach Roberts, who scored on 12- and 6-yard runs in the fourth quarter.

Summit managed just 188 yards to 399 by New Brighton, which gained 345 yards on the ground against the Knights.

Pine-Richland 5, Mars 0- Jordan Baranowski scored a goal in the first half and the floodgates opened in the second half as the Rams downed the Planets.

Butler 3, Hampton 0- Kayla Schnur recorded 31 assists in the Golden Tornado's 25-19, 25-16, 25-23 win Friday.Ashley Huey had 10 kills and Kelsey Rice had 13 kills for Butler.
