Callihan powers KC win

Tyler Callihan struck out six and scattered six hits Wednesday to lead Karns City to a 5-2 high school baseball win at Clarion.

Callihan also collected a double, A single and two RBI in the win. Matt Allen contributed two singles.

The Gremlins are not scheduled to play again until May 31, when they face the Brookville-Port Allegany winner in the District 9 playoffs.

In other action:

Mark White tripled and Bill Messer, Ryan Hays and David Hewitt went 2-for-4 as Slippery Rock salvaged a split with Meadville 6-5 in the second game of a doubleheader at Critchfield Park.

The Rockets lost the first game 4-1, getting just one hit.

Slippery Rock finished the season 5-14.
