1:12 p.m. April 29 — Ryan S. Hart, 28, of Jefferson Township was caught with suspected drugs and other contraband after police were called for an unconscious man in the 700 block of West New Castle Street.Officers awakened Hart, who admitted ingesting the anti-anxiety drug Klonopin and drinking “a few beers,” according to court documents.The suspect appeared impaired and was arrested. Police searched his belongings and found two Suboxone strips, a syringe and two empty prescription bottles, documents said.Hart is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and public drunkenness.

3:30 p.m. Wednesday — An unknown thief stole a 71-year-old Butler woman's purse from her vehicle at the Dollar General parking lot on Route 8 in Center Township. The owner told police that she locked her door but had the driver's side window slightly down before going into the store.2:22 a.m. Wednesday — Shane R. Vensel, 27, no address given, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 8 at Cameron Court in Center Township.Tuesday — Police charged three young men who were caught with suspected drug contraband outside the Unionville fire station on Mahood Road in Center Township about 1:45 a.m. Thursday.Charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and alcohol are Jacob R. Zulick, 19, of Prospect; Brent J. Bish, 20, of Petrolia; and Samuel A. Bellis, 19, of Butler. Police also charged Zulick with possession of a controlled substance.

Friday — Jenifer L. Ruby, 32, of Rimersburg was arrested on charges she and another suspect on April 24 shoplifted a lawn trimmer from the Walmart in Monroe Township. Ruby and John E. Pinson, 49, of Clarion are both charged with retail theft and conspiracy.

12:50 p.m. Tuesday — A 24-year-old Freeport woman, who police did not identify was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 28 north in South Buffalo Township.1:05 a.m. Sunday — Derek J. Helmick, 20, of Freeport was arrested after he allegedly caused a minor injury to a 50-year-old Freeport man at a home on Horseshoe Drive in South Buffalo Township, Armstrong County. Helmick was arraigned on a charge of simple assault and placed in the Armstrong County Jail on $10,000 bail.Sunday — Three men and one woman from Worthington are facing drug charges following a traffic stop on Route 28 in Harrison Township, Allegheny County.Police said the 37-year-old man driving the vehicle showed signs of impairment during the stop. The officer then found the driver and the three passengers — ages 23, 27, and 32 — were in possession of 96 suspected bags of heroin.The driver consented to a blood test, while the suspected drugs were submitted to the Allegheny Crime Lab. Charges are pending lab results.Police did not identify the suspects.8:34 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Joseph W. Renwick, 27, of Worthington struck a deer on Route 156 in South Bend Township.
